Day 4. Grasmere to Patterdale; 10.17 miles, 2,057 ft elevation

Today’s hike was enhanced by our special guests, my dear sister, Barbie, and her close friend Mandy. We set out from Grasmere and promptly needed to make 3 stops in the town … the post office (closed), the mountain store (waterproofing!), and most importantly, The Gingerbread Shop (historic and delish!!).

We laughed and joked and climbed a mountain and lunched at the summit. Gourmet food and cocktails today thanks to Barbie 💕

We arrived in Patterdale to a slew of triathletes (good luck tomorrow!) and serious mountain bikers. Our hostel is quite above board and we’re here for it!

We ended the day with a bit of a snafu (no taxis!!) and a whole lot of good karma. Cheers to Barbie and Mandy who took a leap of faith and a ride from a kind stranger to get back to their car in Grasmere.

Overall, today was filled with fun, adventure and just glorious!

ps. Pics to follow, Wi-Fi is shitty here.

Pics slightly in slightly random order due to technical difficulties and limited IT help en route.

So some highlights from the day.
